Been working on a Family DVD and have run into some issues with capturing the vast amount of footage I have. I used Roxio’s software easy vhs to dvd to capture the video, but I fear that the compression that the software uses is not what I need. Maybe I’m wrong, but I am trying to figure out a solution to capturing a lot of footage primarily on VHS tapes to putting it on a few number of discs. I don’t want to have 25 discs for a family dvd. I’ve looked into blu-ray but not everyone has blu-ray. Stay tuned.
Wow Zuzz
2010 is here and I am excited for the new year!
Lately I’ve been watching the show “Lost” and I’m pretty happy I have gotten into it. I am on Season 3 now and hopefully before February 6th when the new season comes I am caught up. What makes the show great is the storylines behind the characters. Anyways, back to work.

End of malware with Googles new operating system?
Wow, this is pretty awesome if true. This confirms my belief that google is taking over the world.
Some updates
Well for the past week or so I have been trying to get Magento installed correctly. I figured out with a lame host such as godaddy that installation is difficult and load times are way too slow. What a shock..godaddy being slow. I wasted way too much time trying to install this on godaddy servers with little or no luck.
I did some research on there forums and discovered it is a little bit more to my advantage to go with a provider who would have the setup to work perfectly with Magento. I went with nexcess who to say the least has been a breeze for me to get everything up and running. Well..back to work.
Dotnetnuke or Magento for e commerce?
After looking at several options for e commerce..I’ve boiled it down to two. Maybe I will regress on this, but I am probably going to go with either of these options(Dotnetnuke or Magento) for the stores I will be building in the future. Why dotnetnuke for me? It seems to have a huge community behind it with plenty of extensions and it is .net unlike Joomla which is PHP/MYSQL backed. I’ve been wanting to get my hands dirty with ASP for some time and I figure dotnetnuke would be great to know. Magento is the latest e-commerce solution to hit the market and it looks really robust from what I have seen so far.
Anybody have any opinions here?
So I’m learning ASP right now. It’s not too bad of a language except for the Visual C you have to get crammed into your head. I’ve been using a few resources for this lately mainly lynda.com and microsofts asp site. They have some pretty useful tools to help you learn it. Well back to work. I’ll be posting some updates on what I am working on soon.
